Every evening on the seventh floor, a small ceremony repeats itself: the deck lights dim, the music drops a register, and thirty minutes before sunset the golden-hour menu appears. It's the most photographed hour in the building and, some nights, the quietest.

The ritual exists because of geography — the pool's infinity edge faces due west, so the sun drops directly into the water's vanishing line most of the year. We simply built a service around it.

The anatomy of the hour

It starts with the countdown — posted at the lift and in the app, updated daily. Thirty minutes out, the spritz list goes live: four variations built for the light, plus a zero-proof track. The deck team moves through with chilled towels and the last food orders of the day.

The cabana guests get the sightline — the sun lowers into the water about ten metres from the daybeds — but the rail along the western edge is unreserved and, honestly, the better seat for the exact moment.

The sun doesn't set next to the pool — it sets into it. Once you've seen it, other rooftop pools are just water at altitude.

A day on the deck

The rooftop's day has phases. Dawn belongs to lap swimmers — the pool is quiet, heated and empty until 9am. Midday is the cabana crowd: raw bar, frozen cocktails, the long version of an afternoon. Then the deck resets for the hour.

  • Golden hour — spritz list, ambient set, the moment
  • Dusk — lounge format until 10pm

Summer weekends add live ambient sets to the hour — low-volume, tempo matched to the light. It's the detail people remember without knowing why.

How to do it properly

Book a cabana for the afternoon if you can — they carry through to golden hour. Otherwise, arrive forty minutes before sunset, order from the spritz list the moment it opens, and take the rail on the western edge. Put the phone down for the actual minute.
